I miss the magic,
miss the shine
that i could, in most plain things find,
i miss the magic
miss the sparkle
when the world was paved in gold and marble,
i miss the magic
miss the glimmer
when beauty ran rampant and ev'rything shimmered,
i miss the magic
miss the fun
all the moments of splendor from when i was young,
i miss the magic
miss the music
i heard all day long in my world so lurid
i miss the magic
of the young
when the world was beautiful, life just begun
now i have the eyes of an adult
to see the world in all its tumult
the shine has faded, the sparkle has gone,
the glimmer has tarnished, the fun has moved on,
the music has stopped, and the magic has died,
all because i 'came old 'nough to open my eyes.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream. -Vincent van Gogh
"when beauty ran rampant and ev'rything shimmered", cuz that IS how they make it seem in those little kid movies X3
but i dissagree about the last part. I mean, sure, its not as black and white (or just white) as it was when we were kids, but theres plenty of beauty (you couldnt feel about Mandy the same way you do now if you were a kid), theres still magic, theres still music, and theres definately still fun!!
but great poem, i love the words you chose for it!
